About Me
Jacksonville-based artist Kaitey Collins draws inspiration from the whimsy of her childhood in the outskirts of Orlando, Florida, where she developed a deep love for fantastical worlds. Moving at age 12, she brought with her a fascination with witches, ghosts, and princesses, fueled by books about the works of Mary Blair, Marc Davis, and Rolly Crump. Now in Jacksonville, she continues to nurture her passions by visiting places like the Sally Corporation, the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, and taking occasional trips back to the theme parks of Orlando.
Kaitey works with gouache, ink, and digital media, using her focus on design, movement, and color to explore unique subjects. Her artwork captures the same sense of wonder she experienced while wandering the walkways of EPCOT as a child.
Her work has been featured in several indie projects and charity zines, including BLINK, an arts and mural projection festival in Cincinnati Ohio, Purrfect Employee, an indie video game, and Lost Tales: A Tron Fanzine supporting the Internet Archive.
Kaitey’s aspirations are boundless. From tabling at fan conventions to collaborating with Universal Creative, Sally Corporation, or Walt Disney Imagineering, she’s determined to reach for the stars that have always guided her dreams.
